CODE AMENDMENT
A Code Amendment has been proposed to the State Government of South Australia, seeking to rezone the rural land between Spencer Highway, Bowman Road and Rosslyn Road, Wallaroo, to a new Employment Zone (blue) and an extension of the Wallaroo Neighbourhood Zone (pink).
The rezoning will allocate land strategically: priotising local traders, regional employment and wider economic growth, while activating a significant residential subdivision.

The Code Amendment is being proposed on the basis that:
- Wallaroo is a key township for the Copper Coast and the popular Yorke Peninsula;
- The eastern edge of Wallaroo is perfectly positioned to underpin existing connections between robust industries, including green energy, resources, construction, agriculture and freight;
- The population of Wallaroo, and more broadly the State of South Australia, is expanding rapidly;
- There is a pressing need to provide regional areas with sizable commercial and residential land parcels, to foster growth, innovation, sustainability and community development, over the long term.
The following reports were prepared for the rezoning application. All reports were commissioned and compiled by Future Urban (www.futureurban.com.au/engagement), under instruction from the Vendor.

On October 18th, 2024, the Public Consultation Phase of the application concluded without any significant objections. It is anticipated that the amendment will be approved in early 2025.
